Abstract

Study habits play an important role in the life of students those students who have good study have been found to have higher success rate. The main aim of the research was to verify the attitude of student towards study habit and the extent of their real-life application i.e. practice in view of the attitude. The study investigates the study habits of senior secondary school students in Bardhaman district, West Bengal, India using a descriptive-survey method. A stratified random sampling technique was employed to select 637 students, using Attitude and practice tool of Mondal and Samaddar's (2024) regarding study habits for data collection. In the finding. The study reveals significant differences in attitudes and practices towards study habits based on factors like gender, location, and education stream, with a positive correlation between attitudes and practice, contributing to our understanding of study habits' significance. In the study positive relationship between attitude and practice is observed which is (0.754) highly corelated.

Gargi Mondal received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Kalyani Mahavidyalaya under University of Kalyani, Nadia, West Bengal, India. She is now pursuing his Masters of Arts Degree in Education from Department of Education, University of Kalyani, West Bengal, India. She has also received a research experience through her dissertation work in Post-Graduation degree.

Ritu Samaddar, Research Scholar, Department of Education, University of Kalyani, Pin- 741 235, West Bengal, India

Ritu Samaddar obtained her B.A. in Education and M.A. in Education from West Bengal State University, West Bengal, India and Kalyani University, West Bengal, India respectively. She is qualified both UGC NET-JRF and WBCSC SET in Education. Currently, she is now pursuing Ph.D. degree in Education from Department of Education, University of Kalyani, Nadia, West Bengal, India. She is specialized in the field of Teacher Education.

Deb Prasad Sikdar, Professor, Department of Education, University of Kalyani, Pin- 741 235, West Bengal, India

Dr Deb Prasad Sikdar obtained his M.Sc. (In Physiology and Education) from Calcutta University, West Bengal, India and Kalyani University, West Bengal, India respectively. He received his B.Ed. degree (1986) from Calcutta University, West Bengal, India. He also did his Ph. D. in Science (1992) from Jadavpur University, West Bengal, India and Ph.D. in Education (2001) from Kalyani University, West Bengal, India. He is currently serving as a Professor at the Department of Education, University of Kalyani, West Bengal, India. He has more than 28 Years of teaching and research experience and supervised more than 25 Ph.D. Scholars. He isa former HoD of Department of Education, University of Kalyani, West Bengal, India. He is also a former Dean of Faculty of Education, University of Kalyani, Nadia, West Bengal, India. He is specialized in Teacher Education, Science Education and Health Education.
