Abstract

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-day visit to Nepal from August 3-4, 2014 has laid the foundation of a new beginning in India-Nepal relations. The Prime Minister expressed his commitment to the development of Nepal and promised to take all necessary steps to take relations to a new height. Furthermore, with his emphasis on sovereignty and commitment to non-interference in Nepal's internal affairs, he successfully attempted to win the hearts and minds of the people of Nepal and, to a certain extent, boost India's image as a major power mentioned to be limited.

Abstract in Hindi Language:

प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की 3-4 अगस्त, 2014 तक की गई नेपाल की दो-दिवसीय यात्रा ने भारत-नेपाल संबंधों में एक नई शुरुआत की नींव रख दी है। प्रधानमंत्री ने नेपाल के विकास के लिए अपनी प्रतिबद्धता व्यक्त की तथा संबंधों को एक नई ऊंचाई तक ले जाने के लिए सभी आवश्यक कदम उठाने का वायदा किया। इसके अलावा संप्रभुता पर बल प्रदान करने तथा नेपाल के आंतरिक मामलों में हस्तक्षेप न करने की प्रतिबद्धता के साथ उन्होंने नेपाल की जनता के हृदयों और मस्तिष्कों को जीतने का सफल प्रयास किया और भारत की छवि को एक प्रधान शक्ति के रूप में एक निश्चित सीमा तक ही सीमित रखने का उल्लेख किया।
