India-US Relations: During the period of Narasimha Rao Government

भारत-अमेरिका संबंधः नरसिम्हाराव सरकार के काल में

Abstract

India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, while announcing his foreign policy along with India's independence, made it clear that we will not join the military organization of any superpower, that is, we will follow the policy of non-alignment, but gradually India's foreign policy started leaning towards the former Soviet Union, which America became against India, but the Narasimha Rao government adopted the policy of liberalization, privatization and globalization, which was supported by America. India's then Prime Minister Narasimha Rao visited Germany with a view to establishing cordial relations with European countries. Thus, relations were established with the European Union and America by the Narasimha Rao government, which became closer with time.

भारत के प्रथम प्रधानमंत्री जवाहर लाल नेहरू के द्वारा भारत की स्वतंत्रता के साथ ही अपनी विदेन नीतिकी घोषणा करते हुए स्पष्ट कर दिया कि हम किसी भी महाशक्ति के सैनिक संगठन में सम्मलित नही होगे अर्थात हम गुटनिरपेक्षता की नीति का पालन करेगे परन्तु धीरे-धीरे भारत की विदेश नीति की झुकाव पूर्व सोवियत संघ की तरफ होता चला गया जिसे अमेरिका भारत के विरूद्व होता गया परन्तु नरसिम्हा राव सरकार के द्वारा उदारीकरण,निजीकरण व वैश्वीकरण की नीति को अपनाया जिसका अमेरिका समर्थक था। भारत के तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री नरसिम्हा राव के द्वारा यूरोपीय देशो के साथ मधुर सम्बन्ध स्थापित करने की दृष्टि से जर्मनी की यात्रा की गयी। इस प्रकार नरसिम्हा राव सरकार  के द्वारा यूरोपीय संघ और अमेरिका के साथ सम्बन्ध स्थापित किये गये जो समय के साथ घनिष्ठ होते चले गये।
