Abstract

The present study analyzes national consciousness, social structure, the role of women, and contemporary changes based on the essays of Mridula Sinha. The main objective of the study is to understand how her essays present an integrated form of national interest, democratic values, cultural traditions, and social awareness. This research establishes that the essays of Mridula Sinha not only reflect the various dimensions of Indian society but also work towards guiding them. It has been found that in her essays, national consciousness is not limited to a political perspective, but is deeply connected with social, cultural, educational, and moral dimensions. She has seriously addressed issues such as the erosion of family values, increasing independence among the younger generation, technological influence, and the growing distance in social relationships. At the same time, she has emphasized that balance in society can be achieved only through discipline, dialogue, and values. In the context of women, she has presented them as active participants in nation-building and has accepted their increasing participation in various fields as a positive change. One important conclusion of the study is that she has not limited the concept of development to governance alone but has connected it with active social participation, public awareness, and the positive role of communication media. According to her, the holistic development of a nation is possible only when all sections of society are aware of their duties and place national interest above all while adopting moral values. Thus, this study concludes that the essays of Mridula Sinha serve as guiding principles for contemporary society, and the national consciousness embedded in them remains equally relevant and inspiring today.

Abstract in Hindi Language: प्रस्तुत शोध में मृदुला सिन्हा के निबंधों के आधार पर राष्ट्रीय चेतना, सामाजिक संरचना, नारी की भूमिका तथा समकालीन परिवर्तनों का विश्लेषण किया गया है। अध्ययन का मुख्य उद्देश्य यह समझना है कि उनके निबंधों में राष्ट्रहित, लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों, सांस्कृतिक परंपराओं और सामाजिक चेतना का किस प्रकार समन्वित स्वरूप प्रस्तुत होता है। इस शोध में यह प्रतिपादित किया गया है कि मृदुला सिन्हा के निबंध भारतीय समाज के विविध आयामों को न केवल प्रतिबिंबित करते हैं, बल्कि उन्हें दिशा देने का कार्य भी करते हैं। शोध में यह स्पष्ट हुआ है कि उनके निबंधों में राष्ट्रीय चेतना केवल राजनीतिक दृष्टि तक सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि यह सामाजिक, सांस्कृतिक, शैक्षिक तथा नैतिक आयामों से गहराई से जुड़ी हुई है। उन्होंने पारिवारिक मूल्यों के क्षरण, नई पीढ़ी में बढ़ती स्वच्छंदता, तकनीकी प्रभाव तथा सामाजिक संबंधों में उत्पन्न दूरी जैसे मुद्दों को गंभीरता से उठाया है। साथ ही, उन्होंने यह भी रेखांकित किया है कि अनुशासन, संवाद और संस्कारों के माध्यम से ही समाज में संतुलन स्थापित किया जा सकता है। नारी के संदर्भ में उन्होंने उसे राष्ट्र-निर्माण की सक्रिय सहभागी के रूप में प्रस्तुत किया है और विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में उसकी बढ़ती भागीदारी को सकारात्मक परिवर्तन के रूप में स्वीकार किया है। अध्ययन का एक महत्वपूर्ण निष्कर्ष यह है कि विकास की अवधारणा को उन्होंने केवल शासन तक सीमित नहीं रखा, बल्कि समाज की सक्रिय भागीदारी, जनजागरण तथा संचार माध्यमों की सकारात्मक भूमिका से जोड़ा है। उनके अनुसार राष्ट्र का समग्र विकास तभी संभव है, जब समाज के सभी वर्ग अपने कर्तव्यों के प्रति जागरूक हों और नैतिक मूल्यों को अपनाते हुए राष्ट्रहित को सर्वोपरि रखें। इस प्रकार यह शोध यह निष्कर्ष प्रस्तुत करता है कि मृदुला सिन्हा के निबंध समकालीन समाज के लिए मार्गदर्शक हैं और उनमें निहित राष्ट्रीय चेतना आज भी उतनी ही प्रासंगिक और प्रेरणादायक है।
