Abstract

Developing aptitude and attitude towards entrepreneurial activities is crucial for the development of any society and nation. Today’s business students are the entrepreneurs of tomorrow. This research aims to develop structural components of students’ entrepreneurial aptitude by engaging business students in one-on-one interviews. The interview transcript is thematically analysed and developed the categories of student entrepreneurship. The major categories identified are managerial efficiency, achievement need and desire for autonomy.  Later these categories are deducted into structural components of student entrepreneurship. The research also tested the mean difference in categorical variables on entrepreneurial aptitude. The t-test result shows that students who come from entrepreneurial families show a statistically higher entrepreneurial aptitude as compared with students who come from non-entrepreneurial families. It is also shown that there is no significant statistical difference between the aptitude of girls and boys in entrepreneurship.
